Jean Michel Bonnet
Jean Michel Bonnet is a French and Venezuelan petroleum engineer, expert in the general oil and gas industry. He possesses 30 years of experience in operation management (managing teams ranging from 120 to 1,000 employees) and institutional relations, successfully leading several contract negotiations with the governments of Venezuela, Ivory Coast, the United States, France, Norway, United Arab Emirates and Canada.
With a background in petroleum and construction engineering, he has contributed to increasing the financial worth of several oil and gas companies. During his nine years spent in Ivory Coast, gas deliveries have doubled nationwide. This amounts to nearly 90 percent of the country's gas production, or 65 percent of the national electricity power production. These achievements were recognized with four Excellence Awards presented by the President of the Ivorian Republic in seven years.
Jean Michel has previously managed reputable oil and gas companies assets abroad, including French operators Perenco and TotalEnergies, American and NY Stock Exchange-listed Harvest Natural Resources and South American TSX-listed Petrofalcon (Etrion, Vinccler Oil and Gas). In Venezuela, he participated in the negotiation of two joint ventures with state-owned PDVSA (Petroleos de Venezuela) and consequently served as a member of its board.
His expertise includes the setup of subsidiaries, head office and field organization, transformational growth and optimization of onshore and offshore oil and gas field operations. Over the years, he has provided consultancy assistance to oil and gas companies worldwide.
He received an education as an Energy Engineer from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France, with a graduate diploma in Petroleum Engineering from the IFP School in Paris. Born and raised in France, Madagascar and Cameroon, he has a diverse and multicultural background and is proficient in French, Spanish and English. He has lived and worked in the Central African Republic, Gabon, Madagascar, Abu Dhabi, UK, Colombia, Venezuela and Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire).
